Malaria

Malaria is a parasitic disease spread to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito. Symptoms of malaria include fever, headache, chills and diarrhea. Malaria is not endemic to Ontario; cases are attributed to recent immigration or travel. Travellers to malaria-endemic countries, including Africa, Southern Asia and Central and South America, are most at risk of infection.
