Message from Vivek:

Thank you for your interest in a career at Public Health Ontario. Since being hired as PHO’s first employee in 2008, I have seen our organization evolve from vision to reality – we now have over 1000 employees and are continuing to grow in response to the increasing demand for credible scientific and technical advice.

On a personal note, working at PHO allows me to bring together my experiences in research, public health and academic administration to contribute to the growth of a unique and vibrant institution that is a hub for public health practice, health care, academic research and applied research.

Working at PHO

In just a few years, Public Health Ontario (PHO) has grown at a rapid pace from a small start-up agency to a large multi-site organization with office and laboratory locations throughout the province. The Public Health Ontario team consists of:

  • medical professionals and scientists
  • regulated providers (e.g. physicians, nurses, laboratory technologists)
  • non-regulated providers (e.g. certified public health inspectors, epidemiologists, statisticians, community health and development workers)
  • support staff (administrative assistants, human resources specialists, accountants, computer analysts, communications specialists, librarians)

You can find PHO employees in various locations throughout all regions of Ontario including:

  • Head Office, Toronto
  • Public Health Ontario Laboratories (across the province)
  • Regional Infection Control Networks (across the province)
