PHO scientist made Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences

​Congratulations to Dr. John McLaughlin, PHO’s Chief Science Officer, who was recognized by the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) as a 2015 Fellow. Election to Fellowship in the Academy is considered one of the highest honours for individuals in the Canadian health sciences community. The CAHS Fellowship recognizes leadership, creativity, distinctive competencies and a commitment to advance academic health science.

In addition to leading scientific investigation at PHO, McLaughlin is a professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto, a senior investigator at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, and an affiliated scientist with the Occupational Cancer Research Centre in Toronto.

The new fellows were inducted at a ceremony hosted by the Academy on September 17 in Ottawa. More information about the CAHS awards can be found on their website.
