​In this webinar, participants will learn the important role of policy to reduce alcohol-related harms and receive an introduction to alcohol policy research supported by the World Health Organization.  Moreover,  attendees will receive an overview of the harms and costs associated with alcohol use in Ontario, along with a  review of the alcohol policy landscape in Ontario.  To close, we will identify quality sources for more information, tools and describe our customized services.

Speakers

Jason LeMar is a health promotion consultant focusing on alcohol policy at Public Health Ontario (PHO). He has had various roles in public health and health care including Infection Prevention and Control at PHO and working at Cancer Care Ontario (CCO).  Jason has several years of experience providing technical assistance, training, and consultation support directly to Ontario’s public health units in the area of alcohol policy.

Gobinaa Manoharan is a graduate student completing her Masters of Public Health at Lakehead University and working as a practicum student at PHO. She previously worked as a research intern, providing project management support for the Provincial Alcohol Strategy initiative and the health human resources research study.
