Policy at a Glance
In this webinar, we provide an overview of the eight steps to developing healthy public policy. As we examine the eight steps, we will highlight the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of each step, and bring the most challenging steps to life with examples. To close, we identify additional resources and tools, and describe our customized services.
Kim Bergeron is a health promotion consultant focusing on bylaw and policy development in health promotion capacity building services at Public Health Ontario. Kim has over nineteen years of experience working within and alongside the Ontario public health system to facilitate multidisciplinary partnerships to create healthy, sustainable communities. She has provided consulting services to a number of provincial government programs working towards policy change, program development, and improving standards of practice. Kim holds a doctorate in kinesiology and health studies with a focus on health and the built environment from Queen’s University and a master of health studies from Athabasca University.
By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
• Recall and explain the different steps for policy development
• Reflect on how the information provided can be applied to different areas of work
