Abstract:

In this presentation, Dr. Keelan  will review the state of evidence related to the current use, and utility of, social media in public health communications and practice. She will also discuss a framework for utilizing social media in different communications contexts as well as the strengths and limitations of current social media applications.

Presenter: Dr.Jennifer Keelan
Dr. Keelan is an assistant professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. In 2009, she was awarded a Career Scientist Award from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care to support research examining the utility of social media for knowledge-exchange and behavioural change related to health.
