Municipal Alcohol Policy Repository

A municipal alcohol policy (MAP) outlines the safe, appropriate use of alcohol on municipally-owned or managed property, places, spaces and events. Municipal policies support existing provincial alcohol policies, and build on them to reflect the local government’s view. Locally, public health units will work with their communities to develop and implement alcohol policies and programs.

Public Health Ontario identifies municipalities with alcohol policies on a geographical information system  (GIS) map . Policies are collected in the repository and are available as resources for municipalities that wish to update or create a new MAP for their community.

To submit a new or revised MAP for inclusion to the GIS map and the MAP repository please complete the Municipal Alcohol Policy Intake Form.

For additional resources please visit the Alcohol Resources page or contact us at analytics@oahpp.ca
