This session will present the findings from the June 2016 First International Action Congress for Early Childhood Education hosted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The event reviewed the scientific, social and economic rationales for early childhood education. Scientists, educators, policy-makers, corporate leaders and philanthropists at the Congress concluded that early childhood education is not just another example within a list of policy goals - it is foundational to addressing inequality and promoting optimal child-well-being. This presentation will discuss strategies of how to harness the public investment and expertise needed to offer early education opportunities to all young children.
