This presentation will highlight key findings from Public Health Ontario (PHO)’s “Immunization Coverage Report for School Pupils in Ontario: 2016-17”,
examine similarities and differences over time.
This report builds on the previously released immunization coverage estimates derived from the Digital Heatlh Immunization Repository (“Panorama”) for the prior three school years.
In this presentation, provincial coverage estimates for Ontario’s publicly funded immunization programs will be reviewed for children and adolescents and described in relation to both recent provincial trends and to national coverage goals.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Explain immunization coverage estimates for publicly funded programs in Ontario for the school-aged population for the 2016-17 school year.
• Discuss trends in provincial immunization coverage since the implementation of Panorama and to compare these with nationally defined coverage goals.
• Describe variability in immunization coverage in Ontario across vaccine programs and geographic regions.
• Discuss the strengths, challenges and potential opportunities for immunization coverage assessment in Ontario.
