Shortly after, a National Alcohol Strategy Advisory Committee was organized to implement, monitor and evaluate recommendations within the National Alcohol Strategy.
This webinar will outline the history and purpose of the National Alcohol Strategy along with future priorities for the Committee. Applicability to and the role of local public health in supporting recommendations within the National Alcohol Strategy will also be discussed.
Presenter: Carolyn Davison
Carolyn is the Director of Addiction Services in the Mental Health, Children’s Services, and Addictions Branch of the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness. In this role, Carolyn defines core services, standards and best practices for service delivery; develops provincial policies; monitors and audits programs; consults with service providers in the District Health Authorities and IWK Health Centre; and facilitates provincial program development. Carolyn co-chairs the National Alcohol Strategy Advisory Committee and the National Advisory Council on Prescription Drug Misuse.
