The Role of IPAC in Construction, Renovation, Maintenance and Design in Long-term Care Settings

The Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care recently provided funding incentives for physical infrastructure projects related to heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for long-term care (LTC) homes. In light of this funding allocation, this webinar will discuss the infection prevention and control (IPAC) implications of construction, renovation, maintenance and design (CRMD) work in LTC homes. The webinar will also address strategies that LTC homes can use to mitigate infection risks to residents, staff and visitors during CRMD work.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the importance of managing CRMD activities in LTC homes
  2. Discuss IPAC approaches to CRMD in long-term care settings
  3. Identify key strategies and considerations for ensuring CRMD projects are carried out safely
