These broad health status indicators provide an important measure of overall population health.

Our data products provide access to statistics and information related to mortality and overall health such as all-cause mortality, potentially avoidable mortality, self-reported health and mental health, and life stress.

All-Cause Mortality

Indicators include all-cause mortality, premature mortality, child mortality, infant mortality and neonatal mortality.

Potentially Avoidable Mortality

Provides rates of health status across five quintiles of marginalization as defined by the Ontario Marginalization Index (ON-Marg).

Potential Years of Life Lost

Potential years of life lost from avoidable, preventable and treatable causes including cancers, cardiovascular disease, injuries and respiratory diseases.

Overall Health

Indicators include self-reported perceived health, perceived mental health, life satisfaction and perceived life stress.

PHO Rounds: Let’s Talk About Gonorrhea: A Case-based Clinical Overview

This PHO Rounds uses an interactive, case-based format to review recently updated Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) recommendations for gonorrhea screening and treatment, including guidance about when to collect specimens for gonorrhea culture and the optimal timing of test of cure.
