Enterovirus D68

Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) causes acute respiratory illness. Symptoms range from a mild cold-like illness with coughing and wheezing to severe infections that require hospitalization. Enterovirus infections are more common during late summer into fall, with some variation each year.

This Public Health Ontario (PHO) Rounds will present a study which compared transmission among households where first cases used the Toronto Voluntary Isolation Centre (TVIC) with households that received routine self-isolation guidance, prior to widespread vaccine availability.
