Health Care-Associated Infection (HAI) Query
Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) Query is an interactive report providing ongoing monitoring of three health care-associated infections in Ontario: Clostridium difficile infection (CDI), methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteremias and vancomycin resistant enterococcus (VRE) bacteremias. The data is updated monthly (CDI) or quarterly (MRSA and VRE bacteremias) and include summarized counts of newly reported nosocomial cases from September 1, 2008, by hospital, Public Health Unit (PHU), and Local Health Integrated Network (LHIN).
What’s new – Effective September 8, 2025
The updated HAI Query tool offers a modern, responsive platform for enhanced usability and performance.
Key enhancements include:
- Streamlined reporting: Information is now consolidated into a single report with four tabs: Summary, Trends, Comparison, and Data Tables, replacing the previous 17 separate reports for a more efficient user experience.
- Enhanced data comparisons: Users can now compare MRSA and VRE bacteremia rates against a 12-month moving average and the previous year, a feature previously only available for CDI.
- Improved data selection: Date sliders allow for quick and precise selection of specific dates and years.
