Maladie du charbon
La maladie du charbon est une maladie infectieuse d’origine bactérienne causée par le Bacillus anthracis. Il est rare en Ontario. La bactérie, qui se trouve à l’état naturel dans le sol, peut infecter le bétail comme les bovins, moutons et porcs. Bien que le scénario soit peu courant, une personne peut contracter la maladie du charbon au contact d’un animal infecté ou par ingestion d’aliments d’origine animale contaminés. Le charbon constitue aussi un agent potentiel de bioterrorisme.
