Syndrome pulmonaire à hantavirus
Le syndrome pulmonaire à hantavirus est causé par un virus que l’on retrouve chez certains rongeurs, notamment la souris sylvestre. Une personne peut contracter le virus par contact direct ou indirect avec la salive, l’urine ou les excréments d’un rongeur contaminé. L’infection peut entraîner des insuffisances respiratoires aiguës et l’hypotension. À ce jour, aucun cas humain de syndrome pulmonaire à hantavirus n’a été répertorié en Ontario.
