La cryptosporidiose est une maladie intestinale causée par le parasite Cryptosporidium. Les symptômes incluent la nausée, des douleurs abdominales et la diarrhée. L’infection survient habituellement à la consommation d’eau ou d’aliments contaminés par des excréments infectés, par exemple, en avalant l’eau d’une piscine, d’un lac ou d’une rivière. L’infection peut aussi se propager d’une personne à une autre. Il n’y a aucun traitement spécifique, sinon la réhydratation, lorsque recommandée.
