Vaccine Safety Surveillance Tool

Use this interactive tool to explore and download vaccine safety surveillance data in Ontario from 2012 to 2022.

Click the tabs below to view selected adverse events following immunization (AEFI) data by trends over time, age and sex, public health unit, type of vaccine and type of adverse event. Within each tab, use the filters to interact with the chart or graph.

An AEFI is an unwanted or unexpected health effect that happens after someone receives a vaccine. An AEFI may or may not be caused by the vaccine.

Check out our infographic Vaccine Safety in Ontario, which provides a visual summary of vaccine safety highlights from 2022.

This tool does not include data on COVID-19 vaccine AEFIs. For vaccine safety information specific to COVID-19, please see our Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFIs) for COVID-19 in Ontario report.
