Growth and development during childhood strongly influences health across the rest of an individual’s life. Healthy child development is a complex interplay between genetics, physical, family, social and environmental factors. Several public health programs and policies in areas such as nutrition, immunization and injury prevention are aimed at children and are often delivered in schools.

This session will explore the application of trauma- and violence-informed (TVIC) principles in administering mental health assessment tools, such as the Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) Scale and the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS).
