Immunization Coverage
Vaccine coverage refers to the proportion of a population that is appropriately immunized against a specific vaccine-preventable disease (VPD). Maintaining high immunization coverage is essential for the effective prevention and control of VPDs. PHO leads the provincial surveillance of immunization coverage, including the annual coverage assessment of school pupils for Ontario’s publicly-funded immunization programs.

This resource includes Ontario’s immunization coverage estimates for routine childhood and school-based immunizations from the 2015/16 to 2024/25 school years, COVID-19 coverage estimates, and vaccine safety surveillance data collected from reports of Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI).
