Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

As a board governed agency PHO is required to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU). The MOU is an administrative agreement made between the Minister of the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Board Chair of PHO that:

• Sets out the accountability relationships between the Minister and the Board Chair
• Clarifies roles and responsibilities for MOH and PHO personnel, PHO Board Chair, PHO Board of Directors and the Chief Medical Officer of Health
• Sets out expectations between the MOH and PHO as regards PHO’s operations.
