Public Health Ontario (PHO) is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and by meeting our accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and applicable regulations.

Under the AODA and applicable regulations, the following standards are applicable to PHO:

  • customer service 
  • general requirements           
  • information and communications
  • employment

2020 AODA Update:

PHO is committed to providing annual updates on progress toward plan goals and milestones.  The following summarizes key actions from 2020.

In 2020, PHO:

  • Participated in the AODA Compliance Desk Audit
  • Completed recommended modifications to the Accessibility page on PHO’s web site

PHO values and appreciates comments about our programs and services, including feedback on how we can improve the way we serve people with disabilities. All feedback will be directed to PHO Communications. A response can be expected within ten (10) business days.
