Household Food Insecurity Snapshot

PHU (2019 to 2025)

Snapshots are a collection of interactive map-based dashboards showing both geographic and temporal trends for key public health indicators by public health unit (PHU) and Ontario overall. Select Snapshots include other sub-provincial geographies where available. All Snapshots provide dynamically linked tables, graphs, and maps with pre-calculated statistics.

Snapshots use Core Indicators developed by the Association of Public Health Epidemiologists in Ontario (APHEO), where available.

As of September 8, 2026:

  • New annual estimates for 2025 and new 3-year rolling average estimates for 2023-2025 are available in the Download Data tab.
  • A new indicator for household food insecurity among children, i.e., individuals under 18 years of age, is now available. This includes 2-year estimates from 2019-2020 to 2023-2024 in the dashboard map; and annual (2019 to 2025), 2-year combined, and 3-year rolling averages (2019-2021 to 2023-2025) available for download in the Download Data tab.
  • New 2-year estimates (i.e., 2025-26) will be available in 2027 are available in the dashboard map and in the Download Data tab.
