National Immunization Awareness Week 2019

22 April 2019

On April 22, join Public Health Ontario (PHO) in recognizing National Immunization Awareness Week (NIAW) 2019.  Whether you call it NIAW in Canada, Vaccination Week in the United States or World Immunization Week around the globe, there’s no denying the current importance and necessity of vaccines. PHO remains committed to highlighting the importance of vaccines as a pillar of public health.

Immunization information can cover a variety of topics, so why not familiarize yourself with a few of PHO’s featured resources? Learn about vaccine safety in the Annual Report on Vaccine Safety in Ontario, 2017. Want to see rates of immunization coverage among school kids in the province? Look no farther than our Immunization Coverage Report for School Pupils in Ontario (2016-17). Need a reminder why immunizations are so vital? The vaccine-preventable disease page has a dozen reasons to make sure your coverage is up to date.

Public Health Ontario will continue to promote and produce work around vaccines long after the NIAW 2019 is over, so be sure to check back in the coming months to ensure you are up to date with all the latest information about vaccines.
