Supporting Our Partners with Infection Prevention and Control

PHO has updated the structure of its IPAC team to better reflect the evolving IPAC support network in Ontario.

Our Regional IPAC Support team has been realigned into two functional teams: IPAC Design & Development and IPAC Implementation & Support.

  • The IPAC Design & Development team develops IPAC resources and programs to address knowledge and practice gaps across health care settings. System partners, such as Public Health Units (PHUs) and IPAC Hubs can use these resources in their capacity building efforts.
  • The IPAC Implementation & Support team uses PHO resources to help IPAC Hubs, PHUs, and stakeholders implement IPAC programs in their particular settings. It delivers educational and training opportunities, and offers opportunities to integrate IPAC resources and programs into practice.

PHO continues to support the broader IPAC system in Ontario by providing evidence-based materials and approaches for our partners, including the IPAC Hubs. Stakeholders, including long-term care homes, retirement homes, hospitals, PHUs and those in clinical office practice, can continue to contact the PHO IPAC team with their IPAC questions.
