Frequently Asked Questions

Registration for Public Health Ontario’s Website (MyPHO)

  1. Why do I need to register for the PHO website?
While most of the content on the PHO website can be viewed without an account, some content, like online learning and some data tools do require that you register for an account for authentication and validation. We have also added a new feature called MyPHO that provides a customized experience once you’ve registered and logged in. MyPHO allows you to create a profile, see new resources suggested based on your interests, and save content you frequently access to your dashboard so it is easy to access every time you come back to the site

  2. How do I register?
Please click the Login button in the top right corner of any page on the website to begin the registration process. You will be brought to a Login screen. Please click on the” register here” link where you will need to provide some basic information. You will receive a confirmation email from webmaster@oahpp.ca to the email address that you provide. The registration process is not complete until you click the activation link in the email.

  3. I never received my confirmation email. What do I do?
First, please check that a confirmation email from webmaster@oahpp.ca did not land in your junk mail or spam folder. If you still did not receive a confirmation email for MyPHO, you may have mistyped your email address, and your account was not created. Please register again and provide your correct email address.

  4. I want to register in French but the content keeps showing in English.
The PHO website is available in both English and French. While you can view French content by selecting the French language preference, you will need to set your language preference to French within your browser to complete the registration process in French. Please ensure that the Language preference has been set to French in your browser.

  1. I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
If you can’t remember your password, you can reset it here. Please note that for security reasons, if you try to input your old password three or more times, the system will automatically lock you out temporarily. Please wait at least 15 minutes and then try resetting your password

  2. I forgot my username. What do I do?
Your username is the email address you registered with when you created your account. Please check your inbox, spam or junk folders for our confirmation email. If you still can’t remember the email address you registered with, please email webmaster@oahpp.ca.

  3. I tried my password and now I’m locked out. What do I do?
If you try to input your old password three or more times, the system will automatically lock you out. Please wait for 15 minutes and then try again to reset your password. When resetting your password, please do not use a password that has been used previously.

Your new password must be at least 8 characters long and include:
    • At least 1 UPPER case letter

    • At least 1 number (e.g. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0)

Passwords cannot include part of your first name or last name.

Please remember to note your new password for future use.

  4. How do I update my profile information including my email address?
Unfortunately, the email address you registered with cannot be changed. You will need to register a new account with the new email address. Please send an email to webmaster@oahpp.ca indicating that you would like the old account deleted. You may change your first name, last name, or organization by logging into MyPHO and selecting “Edit profile” next to the salutation.

Subscriptions

  1. I want to subscribe to or unsubscribe from receiving email communications from PHO. How do I do that?
Subscriptions to PHO’s communications are managed through MyPHO. This can be accessed once you are logged in to the website by clicking on MyPHO which is the first item in the left hand navigation menu. Go to the subscriptions tab and uncheck the communication that you no longer wish to receive. Please remember to click the “save subscription preferences” button.
