National Infection Control Week - October 14–18, 2019

Announcements

9 Oct 2019

To mark National Infection Control Week, Public Health Ontario encourages you to use the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Checklist which will support practices in:

  • Examining, evaluating (e.g. self-assessment) and comparing current IPAC practices using provincial recommendations
  • Improving patient safety
  • Assessing adherence to best practices in infection control

Take part in National Infection Control Week by accessing the IPAC Checklist to conduct your own self-assessment focusing on a priority area in your workplace. This checklist will help you determine how your office measures up against the provincial recommendations.

Start your assessment today! You can begin by focusing on the high risk practices we commonly hear about from primary care:

  • Cleaning and disinfection of medical equipment (i.e. reprocessing),
  • Medication administration, and
  • Routine Practices

Improve patient safety by completing the checklist.

Happy National Infection Control Week!
