Ontario Respiratory Virus Tool
The Ontario Respiratory Virus Tool provides weekly epidemiological information on respiratory virus activity in Ontario, including COVID-19, influenza, RSV, and other respiratory viruses. Explore and download up-to-date data on case trends, outcomes, laboratory testing, outbreaks and projections.
Updates as of September 11, 2026:
- Redesigned Summary section and expanded key findings: Redesigned to help users quickly identify and interpret key respiratory virus activity.
- New interactive projections (starting October 23, 2026): Integration of the Integrated Respiratory Virus Risk Indicators report, replacing the standalone PDF report.
- Expanded RSV and other respiratory virus reporting: Greater visibility into respiratory viruses other than COVID-19 and influenza, through expanded RSV reporting and new indicators for other respiratory viruses.
- Improved access to PHU-level data: Enhanced PHU maps to provide easier access to local data and support exploration of PHU-level trends.
- Standardized age-group reporting: Updated age-based reporting across the tool to improve consistency, where possible.
- Updated terminology and supporting documentation: “Respiratory season" has replaced "surveillance period" throughout the tool. Technical Notes, User Guide and tool have been updated to reflect updates and to support interpretation and navigation.

The tool is updated Fridays throughout the year, with data up to the previous Saturday. The tool will be updated the next business day following a holiday.
