Ontario Respiratory Virus Tool

The Ontario Respiratory Virus Tool provides weekly epidemiological information on respiratory virus activity in Ontario, including COVID-19, influenza, RSV, and other respiratory viruses. Explore and download up-to-date data on case trends, outcomes, laboratory testing, and outbreaks.

Key findings for Feb. 8 – 14, 2026 (week 6)

COVID-19

  • Percent positivity was low (7.2%), and overall activity was similar to the previous week.
    • Highest percent positivity in those <1 years (12.1%) and 65 years and older (7.7%).

Influenza

  • Percent positivity was low (2.9%), and overall activity was higher than the previous week.
    • Influenza B activity has increased in recent weeks and is now similar to influenza A activity, which continues to decline.
      • Influenza B percent positivity was highest in children 5-11 years (16.8%) and 12-19 years (7.4%).
    • Among influenza A cases, H1N1 was more common than H3N2 this week. H3N2 was the most common subtype this season. See Influenza Strain Details tab.
  • Antiviral-resistant isolates identified in Ontario are summarized on the Influenza Strain Details tab.

RSV

  • Percent positivity was moderate (7.7%), and overall activity was similar to the previous week.
    • Highest percent positivity in children under 5: 24.8% (<1 year) and 26.0% (1–4 years).
